When I saw an email from Abby in my inbox about photographing her wedding, I may have squealed. I have photographed so many of Abby's family members & to be considered to document their big day is SO exciting. While I am counting down the days until I get to photograph their wedding next year, spending time with them at their engagement session was just as special. We adventured around the St. Louis art museum and my favorite hidden gem spot with the most stunning Weeping Willow tree.

 

I intentionally include a complimentary engagement session in all of my wedding packages because I value getting to know my couple before the chaos of the big day. An engagement session allows couples to feel comfortable with me and get to know my photography style ahead of time. Couples often feel nervous about being awkward or not knowing how to pose, but this session gives me the opportunity to make them feel confident. By the end of the session even the photo hating guys are saying, "wait that was actually fun!".

 

My heart behind any couple's photos is to document an authentic love story. It is about noticing the little details and capturing the in between moments that would otherwise be overlooked. Photography on the wedding day is just a sweet extension of this. Getting to stand beside my couple clients on one of their biggest days is the biggest blessing.
